The MHSAA HS Basketball Playoffs are fully underway for the "March" to the Breslin Center in East Lansing for girls & boys teams. Today on this Monday, March 7th is the start of the high school boys basketball district playoffs. Thumb Tailgater Sports will present Live Webcasts of all the Class B District 57 games at Croswell-Lexington High School - starting today Monday.
Game 1 featured the Armada Tigers at the Almont Raiders. Armada was considered the most dangerous dark horse team in the BWAC. Despite them being swept by Richmond & Yale in the regular season - Armada was able to get a win over Imlay City. They did split regular season games with Almont. In the end - Almont dug deep inside themselves and pulled off the comeback and minor upset win. Almont will next take on host Croswell-Lexington in the Wednesday Semifinal.
Game 2 had a rematch from last Thursday night with Yale Bulldogs taking on the Richmond Bluedevils. Yale was able to avenge their loss to Richmond last Thursday - which took away the outright BWAC title from the paws of the Bulldogs and forced to share the prize with Imlay City. Yale with the big win next takes on their big rival Imlay City in the Semifinals. Yale & Imlay City are co-champions of the shared BWAC title. The Wednesday game now is for bragging rights - and a quest for the District Championship.
