Monday Musings HS Football Week 8 : Thumb Tailgater Sports Webcasts

  Some notes of interest in our coverage area of high school football along with a couple of Week 8 Live Webcasts on Thumb Tailgater Sports.

  On Wednesday, October 14th at 7pm - is the weekly "Thumb Tailgater High School Football Sports Show".

  Friday, October 16th presents another Blue Water Area Conference battle that will ultimately decide the league champions. It features the Algonac Muskrats (7-0) at the Richmond Blue Devils (6-1), in what is billed as the major game of Week 8 in the Thumb Tailgater Sports coverage area. If Algonac win gives them the outright league title. If Richmond wins they will share the title with Algonac.
  Almont Raiders (6-1) could also get a share of the BWAC title if they defeat Croswell-Lexington (5-2) & with a Richmond win over Algonac.

  To be aware of - the influx of more teams entering the 8 Player division, means some teams with six wins could be left out. It's a 16 team playoff and it is based on the points system. Listed together is some of the top sixteen teams in 8 Player football.

8 PLAYER TEAM QUALIFIERS thru Week 7 from Snooze 2 You Mapetology.

 Some  11 player teams have clinched a share of league titles & playoff spots - some with wins this Week 8 can clinch outright league titles and hopeful postseason play.

  As noted above - the Algonac Muskrats have clinched a share of the BWAC league title - their first ever in the BWAC & first outright league title since 1972 & 1955 (in St Clair Area Conference & undefeated) & 1957 (shared with Marysville in St Clair Area Conference).

  Sandusky (7-0) & Vassar (6-1) of the Greater Thumb East & West have clinch shares of their league titles and a win for each this week will seal outright league championships. Regardless - it's the first league title since 2004 for the Sandusky Redskins.
  For the Vassar Vulcans a win would give their first outright league title in the Greater Thumb West. They have shared league titles in 2009 (first year in GTW & shared with Reese, EPBP Lakers) & 2010 (with Reese).

  The Tri-Valley East League title should be pretty much clinched outright by the Frankenmuth Eagles this week.

  In 8 Player Football - Owen-Gage Bulldogs (7-0) can gain the outright Mid Michigan league title with a win over Burton Madison.

  The Deckerville Eagles (6-1) have to the final two regular season games to assure themselves lone champions of the North Central Thumb League. It could be tough as they go up against the Peck Pirates (6-1) in Week 8.

 Plenty to digest - yes - but that's why they play the game we love so much!
