That game is going to be covered tonight and attended by Original Thumb Tailgaters, Huron County Press Editor Chris Ogryski & Sportswriter Paul Adams, Huron Daily Tribune. I am a big fan of Thumb Area Sports, but as some know my heart is where I graduated at - Deckerville High School. Even though the Eagles were knocked out of the 1st round of the football playoffs, some solace was done Thursday night when the Deckerville Lady Eagles won their first Regional Title! Congrats ladies! See details at the Huron Daily Tribune Sports Blog and in the Huron Daily Tribune Newspaper on Friday.

Hmmm....Thumb Tailgater Sports for the first time ever to stream a live internet cast of a volleyball game?
As a former United States Marine, I just have to say never forget, always remember those who have served in our military forces and who are currently protecting this great nation. I also celebrated being a Marine yesterday, as the U.S. Marine Corps, celebrated it's 234th birthday. Semper Fi! Veterans Day, formerly Armistice Day, is the anniversary of the ending of World War I. Following World War II, the name of the holiday was changed (enacted June 1, 1954) to Veterans Day to honor those who died in all American wars. The day has since evolved to primarily be a time of honoring living veterans who have served in the military during wartime or peacetime.
Thumb Tailgater Sports will be kick off the Ubly vs Petersburgh-Summerfield coverage with a Tailgate Party hosted by the IGA Express in downtown Ubly, MI! IGA Express is also a proud sponsor of our live internet stream audio cast for the game.

Thumb Tailgater Sports got this post. It concerns former Ubly Head Coach Gerry Herp.
Current Bearcat Head Coach Bill Sweeney stands to break a winning streak record, that is held by Coach Herp. And from what I am told, Coach Herp is rooting for his record to be broken. Get well Coach Herp! Leave a message for the coach at the website link.

Thumb Tailgater Sports will be covering the Millington vs Carrollton high school football playoff game. This is an exciting game for us to cover as we wanted to try to get in a Tri-Valley area team. Here we get two! The teams are in the Division 5, Region 2, District 2 bracket, and will take on the winner of the Vassar @ Fint Beecher game.
Carrollton ended up sharing the Tri-Valley West title with Saint Charles & Ithaca who are both in the playoffs. Carrollton finished the season at 8-1 and their only loss was to Ithaca 48-27. The Cavaliers are coming off back to back winning seasons, led by Head Coach Greg Wasmer. Carrollton had losing seasons from 1993 to 2007, so it has been a great turn around since Coach Wasmer came in to Carrollton. They lost in the second round of the playoffs in 2008, falling to Saginaw Nouvel 35-3. Nouvel finished at 4-5 this year and are not even a factor in the playoffs this year. Getting a taste of that playoff experience should give Carrollton a boost, but in the first round they contend against a team that has been in the thick of the playoffs for many years.....
Millington finished the season at 8-1, and their only loss was to league rival and the Tri-Valley East champions Essexville-Garber 14-7. Another added note is the Millington Head Coach Tim Furno had annonced that he would be retiring at the end of this football season; I'm sure the Cardinal team would like to extend that season for Coach Furno to stick around a little bit longer. Millington has not had a losing season since 1988!! Last year the Cardinals lost to their league rival Essexville-Garber in the first round 33-20. Millington made it to the fourth round in 1999 where they lost to Birmingham Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets 10-7, who went on to win the state title that year. Another interesting note is that Millington wants to join the Greater Thumb Conference.
Thumb Tailgater Sports live internet audio cast starts at 5:50pm for the pre-game show and game time is set for 7pm. Log on and tune in!
We also welcome an addition to our Thumb Tailgater Sports announcing team - Mark "Mad Dog" Dimon will be joining us as our official stats man, and as our extra set of eyes on the field. You will hear him chime from time to time with his analysis of the game.

The great thing about Thumb Tailgater Sports is that we have more options on where to go for our coverage as it is limitless being that we are on the Internet and our audience is world and the universe! We would like to cover the BWAC & Tri-Valley East, so that opens the door for us to maybe do the Carrollton @ Millington game.
