Very Good Show!

Over two hours of babble...knowledgeable babble...about what's going on in high school football in the Thumb. Love it!

I checked out the Sanilac County News site yesterday (Sept 14)and found a post about the tentative GTC schedule for 2011. I just went there today (Sept 15) and couldn't find the link. Luckily I copied the info.

Chiuk Czlek,
The Sanilac County News site is updated on Tuesday nights / wednesday morning, which would explain why you couldn't find it.
The date for the story is dated Sept.8,2010.

Chiuk we talked about in Part 2 of the week 4 show and even aluded to it last week. I actually talked to Rick Glaza about in the Week 3 Edition of the the NCTL move to the GTC. He actually had the story posted on his blog on Sept.3rd;
Dale Ball & the Sanilac County News had the whole enchilada on the story. But I am excited about this move as it opens up old and new rivalry games where all teams can only benefit on getting better playing wise. We already seen the potential of some of those games happening from time to time. It may not happen this year or next for the NCTL teams to get to the level of a GTC team, but it could have an averse affect in a hopeful 3 - 4 years. I think it just begs for great games and competition! Thanks again for the support!

Hi Ed,

Looking at the crossover contests, I was much impressed by how they did it. No way Peck, Kingston or North Huron could compete year and out with Reese, Vassar or Ubly in a East vs West vs NC format. Instead they went with a nearby/ability/enrollment scenario.

Kingston and Mayville vs BCAS and USA...a sort of mini-conference schedule that avoids long travel. Deckerville vs Ubly and Reese...Eagles will completely dominate the NC...but Rockets and Bearcats give them the kind of competition they need.

Bad Axe continuing to play their two closest rivals...CC and EPBP. Ubly vs Cass City. Peck vs Sandusky.

Lots of local, nearby match-ups and games we can look forward to.

Hats off for the AD's in the GTC and NCTL to bring a very exciting package of Thumb football to the area fans!
