The Thumb Sportswriters Association is comprised of writers and broadcasters from the Michigan thumb area involving; The Huron Daily Tribune, Sanilac County News, Huron County Press, Sandusky Tribune, Tuscola County Advertiser, Thumb Tailgater Sports, and 92.1 FM. The group comes together to review the season involving players and teams, along with nominations and recommendations from area coaches as well.
A 5-3-1 voting system was used to determine the major awards.
