Deckerville was voted into the North Central Thumb League by a 9-0 vote, and was officially announced at the Greater Thumb Conference Monthly Athletic Director meeting on October 7, 2009. Deckerville will play in the NCTL starting with the 2010 - 2011 school year. The Greater Thumb Conference also recieved an application from Memphis High School to join the GTC.
No vote was taken on another school joining the GTC league, and the issue was tabled until next month's meeting. Most likely, a committee will be formed to search for another school to fill Deckerville's spot in the league. More information will follow as it unfolds.

I'm back!
So the NCTL FINALLY accepted D'Ville back! About time! Now, it'll be just like the 1980's all over again! Let the domination begin!! Hey Kingston! Yo Peck! Do you hear that big ol' sleeping giant waking up behind you? It's the Eagle about to soar again.
I don't understand why Deckerville would want to join a league that is dying. If the GTC excepts Memphis, then the NCTL still only has 4 teams for football. A pretty bad move on Deckerville's part.
Correction, Tom, only 3 teams...North Huron, Peck and Kingston. Dryden moves to the GAC-Blue next year.
I hope the GTC does accept Memphis. Afterall, except for Ubly and Harbor Beach they are not terribly far from the rest of the GTE schools. Travel time will be a bit further, but rather then filling the void with even further trips its a good deal.
I don't think we heard the end of this story. I have to believe many Eagle fans are very POed about this turn of events.
