Saturday Semi-Final Of MHSAA HS Football - Live Webcast of Algonac on Thumb Tailgater Sports!

It's Saturday Semi-final MHSAA HS Football action!!

Saturday afternoon Nov 19th, it's a Live Webcast of the Division 5 Semi-final that pits the Algonac Muskrats against Grand Rapids West Catholic Falcons (defending Division 5 State Champs). The coverage starts at 12:45pm - click Channel 1 on thumbtailgater.com

*Algonac Muskrats (11-1) continue to surprise everyone but themselves on what they have accomplished this season. Despite losing out on the BWAC league title to Richmond in the regular season - Algonac regrouped to win another District Title (2nd in school history), and won the school's first ever football Regional Title defeating Ida 38-22. Now the Muskrats wants to make more pivotal history with the first trip to a State Championship game. In order to make it - they have to take on the defending Division 5 State Champions - Grand Rapids West Catholic Falcons (10-2) (have won three straight State Titles).
Log onto Channel 1 on thumbtailgater.com - to find out if the upset happens & history will be made - this Saturday, Nov 19th - 12:45pm.

*Frankenmuth Eagles (11-1) have been flying high in the Division 5 football playoffs. Pulling off some great wins over Freeland last week Ithaca (who won had been to six straight State Finals winning the championship five times!)  Now Frankenmuth takes on the very strong Menominee Maroons (11-1) in the Division 5 Semi-final. Menominee have been a staple in Division 5 for the last few years reaching the State Final back in 2013 in a close loss (14-27) to Grand Rapids West Catholic. The last time Frankenmuth was in a Semi-final was back in 1997. The Eagles are seeking their first State Final appearance playing all the way up in the Superior Dome in Marquette. Hear the Live Webcast on the Frankenmuth Sports Network - Saturday, Nov 19th 1pm.

In Division 6 the *Millington Cardinals (11-1) are hoping for a State Final - but first they must take on Jackson Lumen Christi Titans (10-2) in the Semi-finals. Lumen Christi have been to the State Final dance before in the past back in 2009 winning the Championship. In fact the Titans were a perennial power in the Semi-finals & Finals in the early 2000's. But since 2009 they have not got over the Regional hump. Millington last visit to the Semi-finals was back in 2009 in a loss to Clare.
Hear all the action live on WIDL 92.1 FM radio - Saturday, Nov 19th 1pm.

*Ubly Bearcats (12-0) clawed their way back to a Division 7 Semi-final with their minor 22-13 upset win over New Lothrop (10-2) last week. Now the Bearcats face Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates (12-0) in the Semi-finals. The Pirates were in the State Championship last year losing to Ispheming 16-22, and this is their third straight semifinal. Ubly has been to the Semi-finals in the past (2009, 2008, 2006, 2003) and reached the State Final back in 2008. Can they make it back to the State Final?
Find out on the Live Webcast at Great Lakes Sports Network  & on WLEW 102.1 FM radio.

*Great Lakes Sports Network will also be covering the Division 8 Semi-final Saginaw Michigan Lutheran versus Ottawa Lake Whitford game on Saturday, Nov 19th - 1pm.

Good luck to all the area teams - Thumb Tailgater Sports would love to see any of them reach Ford Field or win the 8 Player State Championship.

Updates of the Deckerville Eagles 8 Player State Final & Algonac Semifinal game will be on the Thumb Tailgater Twitter & Facebook page with pictures & video posted later.

Other State Semi-final game updates will be also be on Thumb Tailgater Twitter.
